The quickly growing popularity of pup play and the rapidly expanding numbers of pups and pets in the community is amazing, however, sometimes it can be a little challenging for those who are new to it all. Whom can we trust? Where can we go? I don't know if I can do this alone? These are common questions and it is natural to have some anxiety about any social interaction being new in the community. The administrators of TheHoundPound.com understand, we have been there too but we also understand that the best people to help are those that have lived it themselves. From being a new pup to going out for the first time in gear, their stories, their input, and their experiences really can help answer the questions so many of us ask.
Nobody should trust a nameless, faceless person and we believe that there is value in true-life stories and respect in how people behave and portray themselves in the community.
Our Pound Advocacy Wardens (PAWs) are here for you. They have, through their actions, proven to lend a helping hand to pups in need, offered a listening ear, or even stood at someone's side, what's more, is they have a positive attitude and have FUN. As many of us not only struggle to enter Pup Head Space, we also struggle to remain there. Having fun, enjoying the headspace, and allowing you to be you is key and we are proud to announce this program and our team!
Our PAWS have developed, over time, a relationship and friendship with many of us in the community. They are active and participate in the events, lend a helping hand, and quite literally go out of their way. Relationships are based on trust, take time to develop, and are a continuous and ongoing effort, our PAWS reflect this.
We are happy to consider more Pound Advocate Wardens as we grow, if you feel you reflect the dedication, growth, and dependability we are looking for please reach out and apply!
Please let me take a moment to discuss the expectations of our PAWS and the definition of a Warden and an Advocate!
Warden: a person responsible for the supervision of a particular place or thing or for ensuring that regulations associated with it are obeyed
Advocate: a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy
We expect that a PAW is approachable and understanding. We do not expect them to sacrifice their fun or Pup Head Space but to encourage others to enter it through education, understanding, and ultimately confidence. What do I mean by confidence?
A PAW is a person you can reach out to with questions or concerns including if you have a concern but do not wish to involve the administrators of The Hound Pound.
A PAW is a person you can go to if you have a concern in the community. Is something bothering you? Are you being harassed or trolled? Have you been redirected to a site that makes you uncomfortable? Do you have questions if the person that is chatting with you is or has the experience they say?
A PAW is a person at an event you can go up to and seek comradery with. If you are shy, if it is your first time, or if that anxiety is creeping in grab a PAW or an Administrator!
On behalf of The Hound Pound, I would love to thank each of our PAWS for accepting this responsibility, for being a positive influence, for being a source of fun and friendship.
Again if you are interested in being considered as a PAW and believe you have the qualities and have grown within our community please click on the contact us and share with us your interest and qualifications. As we grow, we depend on you!
We encourage you to reach out to your PAWS through Discord or in person, whenever you are in need!
Awroooo! I'm Bleu. I'm a pup who's always interested in making new friends, helping new puppies find their way, or lending a helping paw. Being involved in the pup community is really helping me be my best me! Feel free to say "aruff" when you see me around!
“Wruff hey pups! I’m Prometheus, but you can call me Pup Theo. I’m a very kinky pup with lots of experience but am always looking to grow. The Hound Pound has given me a great community to do just that, with some amazing people. I’m always excited to see all the pups, handlers, and in-betweens, so say woof next time you bump into me!”
Awrooo! I’m Pyro! I’m a pup who loves nature and outdoors. This pup works in healthcare technology traveling the country. I like to help new pups feel welcome, I’m always down to make new friends, and I’m not afraid to lend a helping paw. I love being a part of this amazing pup community. Feel free to say “aroo” when you see me.
